BIRD MITES – are naturally found where birds (such as pigeons, starlings, sparrows and poultry) and their nests are located. However, in the first few weeks after birds leave their nests, bird mites may infest homes in search of a blood-meal from humans. Bites from bird mites can cause severe irritation.
Roosting Spikes – available in galvanised steel or plastic and can be placed on pitched roofs on ridge tiles and chimney breast, window seals and in guttering. It can also be placed in areas such as over hangs or corners of dorma windows to prevent birds finding that perfect nesting area.
Bird Netting – Nylon should only be installed professionally and has a longer life span than poly/plastic, however Poly is commonly used as pigeon netting to protect buildings, offices and schools from birds nesting.
Wire Mesh – adaptable to many forms, holds its shape and can be used where fixing are difficult as it can be folder and sprung loaded into place. We will however in most cased secure the mess where available to the front and sides of solar panels and leave enough mesh to tuck under the panel to really give the most determined pigeon no way in.
Shotgun – WE ARE KIDDING, seriously, its a common misconception that by causing harm and removing the nesting pigeons you fix the issue, but the pigeons are there on your roof as its close to a food source and ideal nesting conditions. if you were to remove the pigeons more will turn up and continue breeding, its better to remove the food source and put up the deterrent to stop them building a nest, they will move on naturally.
